Aftercare Instructions
Facials:
Immediately After Your Facial:
- Refrain from touching your face to avoid transferring bacteria, dirt, and oils.
- Change your pillowcase on the night of your facial.
- For the next 24-48 hours, cleanse your face with a gentle cleanser.
- Steer clear of harsh scrubs and exfoliants.
- Avoid makeup for at least 24 hours to let your skin breathe and recover.
- Men: Please refrain from shaving for the next 24-48 hours.
For the First 24-72 Hours:
- Stay out of direct sunlight and apply sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30 before going outdoors.
- Avoid Heat: Keep away from hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and intense workouts that could lead to excessive sweating. (At least 72 hours for Dermaplaning, Chemical Peels, or Microneedling.)
- No Exfoliating or Active Products: Do not use products containing Vitamin C, Retinol, AHAs, BHAs, or other active ingredients. (One week for Dermaplaning, Chemical Peels, or Microneedling.)
Daily Maintenance (Post 72 Hours):
- Resume your usual skincare routine as recommended by Katherine.
- Continue to apply sunscreen daily for skin protection.
- Exfoliate weekly following the frequency suggested by Katherine.
Things to Avoid:
- Avoid picking or squeezing pimples, blackheads, or whiteheads, as well as skin shedding after a chemical peel, to prevent scarring, pigmentation, or infection.
- Do not over-exfoliate your skin, which can strip natural oils and cause irritation—limit to no more than 2-3 times per week.
- Avoid using an excessive number of skincare products in your routine.
For Enhanced Results:
- Change your pillowcases at least once a week (Opt for a silk pillowcase to reduce friction and irritation while you sleep.)
- Schedule your next facial 4-6 weeks later to maintain optimal skin health and to reach your skin goals! If you experience any adverse reactions or have questions or concerns, please reach out to us at 914-219-4305.
Lash Extensions:
The best thing you can do to extend the life of your lash extensions is keep them clean. It’s important to cleanse your lashes and lash line thoroughly on a daily basis to remove any oils, product or debris that can affect retention and cause infection or irritation
Do
- Cleanse your lash line daily with a gentle lash extension safe cleanser (avoid micellar waters, Neutrogena or anything oil based)
- Remove your makeup before bed. Any makeup left on your face can transfer to your lashes while you sleep.
- Brush your lashes daily or after getting them wet to avoid tangles and maintain the fluffy look.
- Avoid wearing mascara on your extensions or lower lashes(it transfers).
- Avoid excessive heat. Ex: Ovens, boiling water, hair dryers/straighteners, fire, lighters. Saunas and steam during facials is ok after 48 hours!
- Always rinse your lashes as soon as possible after going to the pool or beach. The chlorine and salt in the water and air can weaken the bonds of your lashes.
- Sleep on your back. Laying on your lashes can cause fallout or bends in the extensions.
Don't
- Get your lash extensions wet for 24 hours. This is top priority if you want to avoid major fall out.
- Use saunas, steam, or tanning beds for 48 hours
- Sweat excessively for 24 hours(avoid workouts if possible)
- Rub/touch your eyes in excess or pull off lash extensions
- Use an eyelash curler on your extensions. Doing so will break off your natural lashes along with the extensions.
- Use makeup, cleansers, makeup removers or moisturizers that contain oil or solvents. They will break down the lash adhesive. Ex: Micellar waters, water proof mascara, gel or pencil eyeliners. Liquid felt tip eyeliner is ok to use on your lids, avoid the base of your lashes.
- The shedding cycle of natural lashes causes us to lose an average of 3 lashes per day. Due to this, lash extensions must be maintained with regular refill appointments to keep a full look. It is recommended to come in every 2-3 weeks for a refill. After 3 weeks you will be required to book a full set.
